As if it wasn’t enough that the one-man DJ phenomenon Tiësto was holding his very own open-air event in the beautiful environs of Victoria Park this summer, as if it wasn’t enough that this is one of the only events of its kind, as if wasn’t enough that he’s roped in electro pop chart-topper Calvin Harris to be his main support at the show – but now, Tiësto has added on the Antipodean juggernauts of electro-soul-funk that is Sneaky Sound System onto the bill as well.
And a more worthy addition to the bill cannot be imagined. The Sydney trio of Miss Connie, Black Angus and MC Double D make deliciously addictive electro-pop, with their roots in their hugely successful club nights “Sneaky Sundays” which included DJ sets from the glittery likes of Tiga, LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip. In Australia Sneaky Sound System are bona fide pop stars, with their debut album “2” rocketing to the top of the album charts, spawning massively successful hit singles like “I Love It” which are ubiquitous as they are catchy. They’ve also been rained with accolades, including four ARIAS (the Australian equivalent of the Brits) and an Independent Spirit Award at the 2009 MTV Awards Australia.
And if that wasn’t enough, the members themselves have gone on to collaborate with the likes of Kanye West (with Connie appearing on his “Graduation” album), Stuart Price and Empire of the Sun, with famous fans including none other than Erick Morillo and Brandon Flowers from the The Killers. Truly fitting additions to the unforgettable dance extravaganza that will be Tiësto’s Victoria Park event, and just one more reason why it will be an experience not to be missed.
